How much is a BMW car rental in Burlington?

Pick up in Burlington was great—quick and easy, friendly and helpful staff. Drop off in DC at Union Station was horrible—drove around for an hour trying to find the return location, signs were either nonexistent or just plain wrong, and later got charged for fuel because the gas tank wasn’t full due to the extra hour of driving, even though staff at the drop-off location said they would waive the charges. Even at the drop-off location, almost no staff and signs, some employee had to waive me down and told me to park in a random spot to return the car rather than a proper return lane. No way to protest charges except to fill out a random feedback form.

First of all, there were no Dollar agents at the rental service and the service was handled through Hertz. Returned the rental car one day early and they stated that there would be no refund since the transaction was made through Kayak. Extremely poor customer service.

Line for rental car reservation pick up was long. Took almost 45 minutes to get car from counter clerk, who was working solo with a long line.

I was charged extra fees at pick-up that I was NOT made aware of. I would have never rented from here if I knew I would end up paying DOUBLE the offered amount. The woman who tried to explain on customer service was rude. The car smelled like cigarette smoke.

I reserved an intermediate SUV. Got email confirmation from kayak. Went to Hertz and they had reserved for me a small EV. Not big enough to fit my family. They told me if i wanted a bigger car i would have to pay more. They had no record of me requesting an intermediate SUV. They told me that I would have to talk to Kayak to get a refund. They told me they are unable to process refunds and that kayak is responsible for that. I am not sure that is true. I called hertz national customer service and they said they would refund but didnt give me a specific confirmation number. We ended up not getting the car. I still dont know if we are getting a refund

It was great on the Burlington, VT end. The worst at the New Bern, NC end

Cons:

Got to New Bern, NC to return the car and no attendant could be found. Waited almost an hour and no one showed at the counter nor did they answer phone when I tried that. Left key and car. Receipt emailed me charged different rates than quoted thru Hertz on paperwork when car picked up. Tried calling Hertz and couldn’t get a person. Will call Credit card company to negate charges.

Reservations and pickup were absolutely wonderful. The drop off was a bit scary because I did not notice, nor was informed that their office would be closed by the drop-off date and time. What was even worse was the note on the building that said I was responsible for their rental car in their parking lot if anything happened to it during after hours. With all the crime, that is a heavy burden and I was finally relieved when I received the phone call from the office that everything checked out ok.

They did not have the mini van that I reserved so I ended up with a larger SUV. The problem with that is I had a person with orthopedic issues and it was difficult for them to climb in and out of that thing. These days rental car companies do not have an adequate fleet and they kind of stick you in whatever they've got. Rather than give me a discount for not having what I reserved, they tried to upsell me on an even bigger version of what I didn't want.

Location was short on vehicles. Employees were working hard to keep wait to a minimum, even giving free upgrades if category reserved wasn't available. Shuttle bus driver was exceptional also - loading all bags so customers could get to the counter quickly and safely. SUV was in great shape with fewer miles than I've seen in rental cars since the pandemic. Excellent overall experience!

Alamo, National and Enterprise (all owned by the same parent company) are the farthest walk from the terminal in Athens. Reserved a sedan so that we would have a trunk for our luggage. Tried to offer me a Jeep which doesn't have a trunk and wouldn't work as my wife had broken her ankle 2 days before and couldn't have gotten up into it. Car had multiple areas of scrapes and dents, which isn't unusual for Greece but the interior was fine and it ran well. Was not happy that they gave me a car with a half tank of gas which makes it difficult to know how much to add to get it back to a half tank when you're not used to filling it and you can't do self-serve in Greece. Staff was fine to deal with though took a long time with the one customer in front of me in line.

Need to be honest with clients. When I picked up the vehicle I was offered to pay $8.00 dls and not need to worry to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas which I agreed to pay the $8 dls. After i returned it I noticed they charged me $98.00 dls extra for filling up the tank when i returned the car with a 3/4 of the tank full. I’m very disappointed with Alamo how they still money.

There was no car waiting for us as booked. The service was not very helpful. Had to wait two hours to return the car by another customer. This was delayed even further for 1,5 hours. So we lost 4 hours waiting This was all unacceptable and we had to pay a driver to take us to the needed location. No proper communication is a major problem.
