Renters are required to provide a valid driver’s license from their home country to rent a car at Gunnison Airport. The license should have been valid for at least one year. You should also present an International Driving Permit if you come from a country that doesn’t speak English. You may be asked to provide your passport or national ID for additional proof of identity. A valid credit card for payment is the other document that may be requested. Few companies will ask you to present a printed version of the rental voucher you got in your confirmation email.
Despite being a small regional airport, you can access several amenities when you rent a car at GUC. You’ll find a few dining options, free Wi-Fi, ATMs, baggage carts, and shops. If you’re traveling with your pet, you’ll find several animal relief areas for pets to take a potty break, drink water, and stretch their legs. The airport is ADA-compliant, so passengers with reduced mobility will have an easy time moving around.
A major credit card is the ideal payment option for your Gunnison Airport car rental. Most car rentals will ask you to use this payment option because it is the perfect security for your rental period. You’ll find a few car rental suppliers that accept debit card payments but with specific demands. You may be required to provide proof of insurance, additional forms of identification, or your return travel documents. There will also be limits on the types of vehicles you can rent.
On average a rental car at Gunnison airport costs $108 per day.
In the past 72 hours, the cheapest rental cars were found at Hertz ($59/day), Budget ($81/day) and Avis ($85/day).
Car rental companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Gunnison airport to off-airport locations include Hertz, Budget, and Avis.

Kayak has earned my business for many years by making sure the quoted price wa accurate and incl all costs. I was quoted $367 for my car, received a Priceline confirmation at that price, but my rental agreement upon picking up the car was $441. After spending hours calling and getting the runaround on auto attendants and live support people who always blamed me or one of the other two parties (kayak, Priceline, Budget) I have no choice but to dispute the charges and never use Kayak or any other pricing engine. I’ll pay more to go direct.10.0 Wonderful

Cons:
The car we were given was an "upgrade" but it was a larger car that was very underpowered for climbing mountain passes which decreased the mpg. Also, the inside windows were so dirty with foot prints and splatters, it was difficult to see. we had to make a stop to clean it so we could continue our trip.4.8 Mediocre

Pros:
Staff was courteous and friendly.Cons:
The "premium" sedan I had reserved was "upgraded" to a compact SUV, a Ford Escape. If this is an upgrade, I'm sure the sedan was really disappointing! The rental rate was outrageously expensive! Over $200 for a one day, one way rental! I will never rent a car for this trip again! One location in Gunnison Airport

Everything was wonderful. Irving was the name of the rep that assisted us. The car model that we booked online was unavailable and for a small upgrade fee - we rented a luxury SUV. Very happy with this rental experience.10.0 Wonderful

Enterprise had no car for me because they had overbooked. I had to scramble at the last minute to find another car that cost more. The local agency said I would have to call the 800 number to get compensation for the additional cost and the supervisor on the 800 line said they could do nothing because that had to be handled by the local agency. Everybody was very sorry. A sorry operation indeed. One location in Gunnison Airport
